Are higher energy prices getting you down? Solar energy may offer some relief from those high bills, while also decreasing your impact on the environment. It’s an excellent investment. How to go about it, though? There are a lot of options. How much do you need? How do you find a reputable contractor? Where to put it? Do I need batteries? How does it all work, anyway? You can find answers to these questions and more at the March Speaker Series event in which resident Solar Ambassador, Kevin McKee, will discuss solar energy fundamentals, and provide a brief recap of progress and projects in the Metro East and Illinois. McKee, a member of the Piasa Palisades Group, has been a volunteer solar energy educator since training as a solar installer/designer and subsequently installing several of his own solar energy systems beginning in 2011. He now volunteers for the non-profit Illinois Solar Education Association (ISEA) and the non-profit Midwest Renewable Energy Association, both of which educate the public on renewable energy. Please register for the event at Old Bakery, or attend on Zoom and receive a link. Attendees are invited to come at 5 p.m. to have dinner and meet the speaker.
