Welcome to the 2008 Illinois Solar Tour! This event is part of a national tour hosted by the American Solar Energy Association and is the largest solar energy event in the world! Home owners and businesses across the state generously welcome visitors to explore how to use renewable energy systems to reduce utility bills while minimizing the environmental impact of their buildings.

This year we plan to feature over 200 locations state-wide including:

• Solar thermal and solar water heating systems
• Solar (PV) electric systems
• Wind electric systems
• Green building construction and passive solar design
• Energy efficient heating technologies
• And more!

We have divided the state into 10 different regions. See the Directory of Buildings to find sites near you. If you are considering becoming a tour host see  Tour Host Application and Tour Host Information in the Tour Host Menu at right.  Hurry, you'll need to register by July 30th if you would like to be in the printed guide book.  Homes registered after that date will be listed on the website only.
