System Details and Green Efforts:
Looking to install a 7kW solar PV system in Spring, 2015. 30 Solar World PV panels with Enphase microinverters.

Personal Story:

I am married and a father of 3 children with 20+ years of working in corporate America. Recently, I decided on making several changes in my life and start living sustainably. I came across a video on youtube, "Solar Power Revolution-Here Comes the Sun" about a year ago and I have been researching the topic ever since. The video was so powerful to me that it inspired me to enroll in training courses at MREA (Midwest Renewable Energy Association) to learn more about the technology and how to install it. The technology is so simple and yet so powerful; put a shiny rock on your roof and connect it up to the grid and you have all the energy you could ask for. I want to be part of the coming energy revolution and to spread the word about this technology.

What tips do you have for someone considering or moving forward with a solar installation?

Understand that solar installation is a moral response to the threat of climate change. The individuals at the grass roots level have to take an active step toward reducing the consumption of fossil fuels. When billions of people take that moral response, climate change will no longer be a threat. But the beauty of solar is that it can also benefit owners financially. What other fixed asset that a homeowner might install on his/her house will actually make money for the owner? Moreover, what fixed improvements can increase the value of the house?
