Illinois Interconnection Standards Workshops
The ICC has opened a rulemaking docket (14-0135) to consider changes to the Illinois interconnection standards at Parts 466 and 467 of the Commission’s rules.
ELPC and CUB filed proposed rules, developed in coordination with IREC, to reflect best practices from the amended FERC SGIP, California Rule 21 and some other sources.
The Commission has scheduled a series of three workshops to discuss the proposed rules. These workshops are open to the public.
May 1 (Springfield, 10:30-4:30 CT)
May 22 (Chicago, 10:30-4:30 CT)
June 12 (location TBD)
A formal rulemaking process and public comment period will follow the workshops.
Potential topics of discussion on May 22nd include:
· Sharing of best practices on external disconnect switch;
· Form of “supplemental review”
· Initial discussion of Chicago “network grid” interconnections
· Next steps, i.e. timing of draft rule and comments.
