Photovoltaics Introducation - PV101 (pro track)

This 8-hour course uses a combination of lecture and classroom activities to teach the basics of photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Participants will learn how PV systems work, diagram the four PV system type, describe and identify components, understand the best application and limitations of each system type, define the solar window, make energy efficiency recommendations, estimate system loads, and understand the basics of PV site assessment.

This class is recommended for students working toward NABCEP Certification or planning on attending ISEA 200 & 300-level classes.

INSTRUCTOR

Chuck VonDrehle, NABCEP Certified PV Installer
Chuck is the V.P. of Sales and Engineering for the Chicago based, solar distributor PVpower LLC.  Chuck has been in the solar industry since 2007 and has managed the installation of over 1MW of projects. After working for one of the largest solar installers in the California market, Borrego Solar, he returned to Illinois, to help establish Harnetech as a solar energy installer in Chicago and designed and managed commercial installations for Socore Energy.
