This 3-hour course uses a combination of lecture and classroom activities to teach basic energy literacy and
basic principles of renewable energy and the technologies.  An overview will be provided of the impact
renewable energy has on small and large-scale economies as well as career and business opportunities
available. 

Course End Competencies:

  • Define renewable energy
  • Explain units of measure for types of energy
  • Demonstrate fundamental math skills for calculating angles, system size, and energy conversions
  • Identify types of renewable energy technologies 
  • Explain the influence of renewable energy on economies
  • Identify career and business opportunities in renewable energy 

This class is a prerequisite for ALL professional track classes, unless you are a professional electrician, engineer, plumber, contractor, roofer, or architect.

Instructor

Mark Burger
Mark is Principal Consultant for Kestrel Development Company, providing consulting services on renewable energy policy, technology and market development.  He has over 25 years experience in renewable energy and building energy applications.  Marks is also the ISEA Board President.
