Climate Action 411 is an interactive conference created with the intention to promote a deeper understanding of climate change issues and to galvanize community efforts to address them.
Highlights of the Seminar
We know climate change is real and here right now. We’re shifting the conversation from, “Is it real?” to “How do we work together on solutions ensuring climate justice for everyone?” Keynote presentation by The Climate Reality Project, featuring a new leading edge presentation focused on overcoming barriers to action.
To identify targeted actions from the local to state level, Jerome McDonnell, host of WBEZ’s global affairs program Worldview, will moderate a panel of experts who are leaders in the environmental movement, organizing, politics, and business.
In workshops we will take concrete actions with positive results on the day of the conference and discuss how to sustain action into the future. We will focus on individual and collective actions to reduce money’s influence in our democracy, to build public momentum, and to more effectively communicate with our communities about the importance of action.
There will also be an informational session on how to avoid burn out and how to stay hopeful in the face of such daunting challenges.
